Denver: Mountains + Family = Bliss

"Did that tree just bite my hand?"
Our first hike in Colorado - Moira is introduced to the back carrier.

Moira is laughting at uncle Casey as he tries to make a fire without matches. He was inspired by Bear Grylls on Man vs. Wild.

Brothers - Jesse, Casey, and Me

Back at the car waiting for the boys. We were busy making deer calls in the woods - and it worked! We totally beckoned a deer from the woods who followed us for about a mile. It was very confused.

There's a new sheriff in town!
Dinner at Woody's Pizza - they have a pizza buffet!

Playing with Grandma

Moira is unsure of what Jackson is offering her.

"Touchdown" - one of the first things Grandpa taught her

Fourth of July BBQ - File Mignon wrapped in Bacon, it doesn't get much better than that folks!

Moira met her Aunt Megan for the first time

Another one of the awesome hikes we took while in town. The snow run off was at its peak and the water was just crashing down the river. It was quite breathtaking - it also took all the logs we threw into the river too and smashed them against the rocks.

Jesse - the proudest uncle
(side note: carrying around your cute niece is great for meeting the ladies)

Michael and Elizabeth came to visit us in Denver. We left Denver for Mt. Evans in 80 degree weather. When we arrived at the top it was 13 degrees with the windchill. One person didn't bring any warm clothes - can you guess which one?

Alex and Kyla served us gourmet pizzas - caramelized pears, onions, mandarin oranges, mozzarella and a garlic cream sauce made from scratch. Why do I keep writing about food? Just typing this description reminds me we won't be back in the states for great food for another 9 months!

Moira and Grandpa - Grandpa informed her she can only do the touchdown celebration while rooting for the Denver Broncos, note the orange dress.

Yet another amazing hike. We're in a high altitude meadow and behind us are the ruins of old mining lodges from the 1800s.

More family we got to see. My siblings - Megan, Christie, and Ian are in the back with Mom. Then my Aunt Connie and Uncle Flip with my cousin Jessica. Grandma (Moira's great grandma) is in the front.

Not as normal as you thought.
