One Last Shower

This past Saturday our family of volunteers threw us one last baby shower before the baby comes. This is the third shower we've had now and we've been so blessed by the gifts that have been given to help us get ready for our little one.

The shower was held in the coffee house which sits beneath our kindergarten in a refurnished hotel that the school acquired over the summer. We had awesome snacks and a Nick and Angel trivia game which was composed by Christie, Nick's little sister. Much to everyone's enjoyment, some of the questions divulged embarrassing information about Nick's childhood coupled with some pretty funny pictures.

We're so thankful for our family of volunteers over here. Above are our neighbors who we love playing cards and watching movies with.

Angel with the kindergarten principal (married to the high school principal). They were our neighbors last year but since we had to all move out of our old building we are now a whole 5 minutes away from each other!

Here are two more volunteers who teach in the high school. For those of you who heard us speak this last summer you know how we desperately have needed more teachers. The volunteer on the left just joined us this past week and we're so thankful to have her.

A future playmate for our son or daughter. This little guy was born just 5 months ago and belongs to another wonderful couple who serves alongside us.

The daughter or our principal and a very fun little girl. Here she is giving Nick a leg workout while he helps to set up for the baby shower.

In addition to many other gifts we were given some money from the group as a whole. We used the money to buy a much needed dresser for all of the baby's clothes. As you can guess from the picture above, we got it at Ikea which means that some assembly is required. After a little bit of work, then dismantling that work (I put the drawers together backwards), then some reassembly, we had a nice dresser to fill with baby stuff.

The finished product complete with the nice plant that was given to us at the shower. We're thankful for the love and support we have in our family of volunteers over here.
